SILVA Homes bosses have promised to get TV systems working again at a Bracknell tower block after a blackout left residents without entertainment for days.

The News was told TV screens in the communal area of the tower block, on Rectory Lane, went out on Sunday evening (December 8).

A friend of one of the people living there said: “It is ridiculous.

Bracknell News:

“There are people in this tower block that can’t get out and all they have is a bit of telly.”

But a spokesperson for the housing association said the system should be working again this evening (Thursday, December 12).

They added: “We booked an engineer as soon as the issue was raised and having identified the problem, he is visiting again today with the parts to fix it.

Bracknell News:

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers at Point Royal, but appreciate their understanding that during the winter months we have to prioritise core repairs, such as heating and hot water.”

UPDATE: The News understands an engineer went out to Point Royal and succesfully fit the part required to fix the Sky TV system, meaning the service is up and running again.

However, it is understood there are still a few problems with some of the channels but more work is planned to restore these channels.
