CHRISTMAS celebrations kicked off with a bang last weekend with the annual lights switch-on event.
Families were feeling festive in Sandhurst Memorial Park on Saturday (November 30) as Santa Claus turned on the twinkling lights.

Excited children got to meet Father Christmas and take pictures with him while parents sung along to Christmas carols by the Sandhurst Community Brass Band.
Sandhurst Town Councillors joined in with the festivities while serving up mulled wine and moreish mince pies to keep guests feeling warm and Christmassy.
Finally the Christmas tree was light up in all of its glory, ready to take centre stage at the park throughout thChristmasas period.
