FANCY dress and Christmas cheer filled the streets of Wokingham for the annual winter carnival.
Wokingham residents were flooding the town centre streets, flaunting their outfits and dressed in colourful costumes, from day-glo face paint and a bright pink hat to Darth Vader and his army of Stormtroopers.

The event also had entertainment for all ages, featuring bungee jumping, children’s balloons and even a traditional steam roller.
The lucky winners of the “best float” and as a result winners of a £100 prize, were the 3rd Wokingham Scout Group - Space Scout for the child’s category, and for the Adult category it was - Andy’s Space Tractors - Richard’s Rocket, One Giant Step , Moon buggy and From Infinity and Beyond.

Event organisers posted on Facebook, saying: “Thank you to everyone who came to the #wokinghamwintercarnival today - the visitors, the stallholders, the entertainers, parade entrants, the marshalls, the fire brigade and police and police cadets, first aiders and all the volunteers. 
"And thank you to all of our sponsors. Now we have to start planning the next one. #lovewokingham #woky #wokingham."

The event also had a host of live music, courtesy of the Wokingham Youth Orchestra, and food-and-drink stalls for all to enjoy, serving traditional Christmassy treats like mulled wine and minced pies.
