Smart Works Reading is a charity that helps women back into the workplace throughout Berkshire and the surrounding area.

The organisation gives women the confidence, the self-belief and the practical tools they require to succeed at interview and start a new chapter of their life.

The charity offers practical non-judgemental advice and a welcoming safe environment and provides a free service that includes a two-hour style consultation and one to one coaching session.

Sarah said: “I was hugely honoured to receive my MBE from HRH The Duke of Cambridge.

"I was excited and nervous beforehand, but everyone there was so friendly, everything worked like clockwork and I was put at ease every step of the way.

"We had time to meet the other wonderful people who had been awarded honours and we got to take in the splendour of the Palace surroundings and atmosphere.

"I soaked up every moment as I walked around the main room ready to meet the Duke of Cambridge and receive my award.

"I was worried about the curtsy and reversing in heels but thankfully it all went well."

Once clients are successful at interview, they are invited back to Smart Works Reading for a second dressing where they receive a capsule collection of pieces.

Smart Works service is open to all women in need who have a job interview confirmed.

Many of the charities female clients are vulnerable and in need of support.

They are referred by prisons, refuges, mental health charities, the care system and Job Centres.
