IT has been exactly one year since the Queen visited The Lexicon, so we've decided to look back on the momentous occasion.

Her Majesty stepped foot into the newly developed shopping centre on October 19 and she was given a tour by the developers.

Many elected schools took a trip down to the town, waving their union jacks in excitement of seeing the Queen for the first time.

However, since her visit last year, there has been many eventful things happening in Bracknell.

Councillors approved more regeneration in the town centre, such as redesigning Princess Square and building The Deck.

On more serious topics, former conservative MP Phillip Lee decided to join the Liberal Democrats and will be standing in Wokingham at the next election.

Bracknell News:

Oh and how could we forget that we had a gigantic animatronic T-Rex stomping through the town.

But in terms of Royalty, this is not the first time Bracknell residents will have welcomed the monarch.

The Queen first visited Bracknell in 1962 and appeared again 14 years later, when she visited the old International Computers Limited building in the Southern Industrial District.

In 1978, she opened the Royal Meteorological Society's headquarters and went on a tour through the town centre.

As the society's patron, she was welcomed by the Lord Lieutenant for Berkshire and a crowd of society members outside Bracknell College.

On another visit in 1991, the Queen opened The Look Out Discovery Centre.
