Where is log of missing crematorium logs?

There is an issue with the new layout at the Easthampstead Crematorium, all visitors who tend graves on the right-hand side of the Crematorium as you enter, then need to go to the Chapel or perhaps visit the facilities are forced to leave the grounds and execute a U-turn before re-entering, which is a safety issue and a bizarre thing to have to do.

However, this according to the Chief Executive, Mr Wheadon, is perfectly acceptable and he goes on to state that there have been no complaints regarding the design. This is untrue.

The other issue is the policy decision concerning the memorial leather panels displayed in the Chapel.

The current situation is to charge annually to display a memorial for a year or the Leather Panel will be, according to the word used by a council official, ‘discarded’ should payment not be received.

This begs the question that a good many of the next of kin have changed address and are unaware that their loved one’s plaque has been removed, in some cases the next of kin have themselves passed away.

The most disturbing aspect of this farce is the fact that memorial panels purchased in the early 1970s were never subject to a lease agreement and should not have been removed from the Chapel.

The council disagrees with this assertion, but when asked to back up their claim with a copy of the agreement or terms and conditions in force at the time, maintain the documents have been destroyed.

It beggars belief that documents relating to supposed current leases would not have been kept, this is either not the case or illustrates total incompetence, let’s hope it is the former.

Using the Freedom of Information Act in order to get a copy of the mandatory log that listed the destruction of these papers, what a surprise to learn that the log had also been lost or destroyed.

Is this a case for Poirot - where is the log of the missing logs that Peter Piper Pulped?
