A SCHOOL has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for its innovation and involvement in the community.

Holme Grange School in Wokingham feels "delighted" to be shortlisted in two categories at the ISA Senior School for Academic Excellence and Innovation and ISA Outstanding Community Involvement.

The school has been heavily involved with an outreach programme with another school,in the second largest slum in Nairobi.

As well as this, the school supports a Link Programme where staff and students hosted a Christmas lunch on Christmas day for isolated people in the area.

Claire Robinson, headteacher, said: "It is nice to be recognised for all the good work going on in the school, but our key focus is to constantly be striving to improve for the good of our whole community."

The school highlights its 'outstanding' GCSE results and prides itself on its teacher development programme which has improved education for students across the board.
