MUSIC, beer and prosecco will be on tap at an event which aims to raise money for a very worthy cause.

A popular music event is coming back with a bang, bringing residents in Wokingham HurstFest on October 19.

Locals can sing along to Elton John tribute band, EJ as well as three other musical acts and drink a variety of ales, ciders, wines and beers.

The St Nicholas School, Hurst Parent Teacher Association (PTA) who is the organiser of five 'Rocktoberfests' events, has joined forced with Hurst Cricket Club to run the new event.

The idea is to have a "great evening" while fundraising for the two organisations.

Mike Rand, PTA chair, said: “We’re excited to join forces to raise funds for both causes. This is a fabulous evening where adults can join their friends and dance the night away.

“The PTA are always looking for new ways of raising much needed money for the school and joining forces with the cricket club brings the village together.”

Tickets cost £17 which includes entry and a hog road are in advance only from the Facebook site: Facebook.com/hurstfest

Rebellion, Binghams and Brakespear ales will be on sale, as well as lager, cider, wine and prosecco.

Anne-Marie Scott from Hurst Cricket Club, said: “The cricket club is the social hub of the village, in the summer we have a BBQ and bar every Friday evening.

"The club caters for both adults and also children, many of whom attend St Nicholas School.”
