“PLANNING is frequently a very emotive subject” - that was the verdict from the council’s planning boss earlier this week.
Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) is asking residents to have their say on thousands of homes, business space and infrastructure coming to the borough as detailed in its updated local plan.

Taxpayers can have their say through BFC’s consultation, and there are some applications submitted to BFC this week which might interest residents.
Here are five planning applications added this week which could cause some controversy.
Plans to build 14 homes in Sunninghill, Ascot
Radio DJ Chris Evans is hoping to build more than a dozen luxury homes after demolishing his derelict mansion on Church Lane, Sunninghill.
The News has been following developments with this proposal after it was submitted to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead for approval in March.
Evans has faced setbacks in his plans to replace the mansion after experts said he must iron out issues with roosting bats and flooding.
The same application has this week been sent to BFC’s planning department, but only two documents are attached to the proposals.
A 21 space car park in Warfield
Farmland north of Chruch Lane in Warfield could be converted into natural greenspace (SANG), with an ancillary car park also potentially added to the site.

Developers suggest the change in the use of land might mitigate for almost 700 homes.
A report read: “Given that the proposed SANG area is approximately 12.6 hectares, and assuming a mitigation standard of 8 hectares per 1,000 new occupants based upon an average of 2.31 persons per dwelling, the SANG may potentially...mitigate the impact of up to 682 new dwellings.”
Existing hedgerows would be ‘enhanced’ as part of the plans and a new car park with 21 spaces would be added to the site should bosses give the proposal the all-clear.
A new garage, cycle store and swimming pool in Winkfield
A property on Winkfield Lane could be set for a signficant upgrade with a number of new additions.
Potentially being added to the site is a new pool with a pavilion, a new garage and a cycle store.
A bungalow currently occupies the site but the garden is reportedly large enough for the pool and the garage.
However, according to the developer’s proposals, the site is in the green belt and outside of the settlement boundary.
A new yoga studio in Crowthorne
Crowthorne could be about to get a new yoga studio as shopowners hope to switch the use of units on the village’s high street.
Units 203 and 205 are proposed to become a retail unit and a leisure unit respectively, with the new yoga studio potentially occupying the latter.
The shop on the left-hand side would be used be primarily used for retail purposes but a small treatment room would also be added to this unit.

The studio would be open daily from 8 am to 9 pm but once a week a yoga class would begin at 6 am.
A new shipping container to be used as a clubhouse
Sandhurst Tennis Club wants to replace its current shipping container with a new shipping container, which would be used as a clubhouse.
The new container will be larger than the existing container and will enable the club to use it recreationally.
Sandhurst Town Council agreed to the plans at a meeting of its leisure committee in July, but planning consent is still needed from BFC.

The application is still pending consideration.
