A MUM of three feels "incredibly lucky" to have made it in the finals of the Brilliance in Blogging Awards for her inspiring work in raising awareness on gender equality.

Laura Summers from Bracknell set up her parenting and lifestyle blog 'Laura's Lovely Blog' in 2015, after taking a career break following the birth of her second child.

The local blogger is proud to announce that she has made it in the finals of the prestigious award for her work in Gender Equality in the 'Inspire Category'.

The awards is organised by BritMums which is the UK's largest and most influential network of lifestyle bloggers and social influencers.

Laura said: "To win this award and know that people love to read what I sharem it would mean such a lot.

"Blogging, freelancing and working for yourself can be quite tough as you often work in isolation. "It is really humbling that so many people regularly read my blog and it always makes my day when people tell me what they do."

The dedicated mum works from home but has found blogging harder since her third baby was born.

However, her influence online has meant she can work with her children, through reviewing days out, for example: visiting a closed experience at the National History Museum.

Her blog has also gained revenue and Laura earns a small wage each month meaning she can stay at home and be with her children.

The 39-year-old added: "I would love to grow my blog and make it a full time wage. But I also think it is brilliant to be able to make a difference.

"Being invited to Westminster earlier this year to share my thoughts on gender equality and how we can help women to succeed in the work place after children and address the gender pay gap issues that woman face.

"That was an awesome experience and I would love to do more writing that makes a difference too."

The winners will be announced on Twitter: https://twitter.com/britmums at 1pm on October 10.
