PARENTS who have children with special educational needs and disabilities will get the chance to find out what services the area is offering.

Wokingham Borough Council will be holding its Local Offer Live Day on October 12 at St Crispin's Leisure Centre.

The day is specifically designed for SEND children and young people, aged between 0 to 25 and their parents and carers for a fun information day.

Families will ge the chance to find out what activities there are available to them, as well how to access much needed services.

This event is also open to all families who are waiting for a diagnosis on their child.

SEND Voices Wokingham organised the event in partnership with WBC and Places Leisure.

Parents can network with others, meet with representatives and get advice from services such as Wokingham and Bracknell Mencap, Autism Berkshire and Sportsable.

Cllr UllaKarin Clark, executive member for children’s services, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to invite all families of children with additional needs to this wonderful event where they can discover the range of activities, services and help available.

"I am very proud of our Local Offer and remain committed to providing quality services to families in the borough."
