ROTARIANS are gearing up for their Community Christmas Draw which raises money for very worthy causes across Bracknell.

The Easthampstead Rotary Club are launching their second fundraising event after raising an incredible £7,000 to help community groups.

Rob Hughes, spokesman for the club, said: "Unlike with some lotteries, our participating groups benefit from 100 per cent of the proceeds of the draw, and this year we're doubling the total winnings for local volunteer groups."

The first prize is £500, the second £250 with a further 10 prizes of £100 and five £50 prizes.

At last year's awards, one charity spoke about how the Christmas draw benefitted their needs.

Liz McDaniel, Me2 Club said: "It was great for us to be part of the Community Christmas Draw.

"I hope this initiative becomes an annual event, as it shows what a big impact it had and I’m sure it will only grow over time."

In 2018, 19 charities were kindly given donations, including local Scouts, The Wayz, South Hill Park Outreach, Me 2 Club and more.

Rob explained how the Community Christmas Draw is only made possible by the sponsors they have received.

He added: "Jemca Toyota Bracknell who is again a main sponsor, is joined this year by Legal & General Homes. Our other sponsors are Creative Flooring Crowthorne and UK-Coins.com."

The draw will take place on December 16 at the Coppid Beech Hotel in Bracknell.
