THIS year's Macmillan coffee morning saw a huge turnout of parents gathering to raise needed funds for the charity.

Papplewick school in Ascot raised a massive £1,250 from people buying a spot of cake and tea on September 7.

Since 2016, the school has raised £2,600 for the charity and this time even more money was collected.

School boys and their mums and dads contributed their 'Bake off' style creations in a bid to raise awareness of Macmillan.

Tom Bunbury, headteacher at Papplewick, said: "We are proud to be able to help Macmillan Cancer in any way possible for the incredible support they give, and thanks again to our parents for organising this superb cake sale."

People all over the UK have been hosting their own 'Coffee Mornings' throughout September.

Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
