Youngsters dug holes, planted a variety of vegetables and watered them, before potting a selection of herbs and winter bearing flowers for the colder months.

Sylvia Condon, nursery team leader, said: "The families had a wonderful time in the garden planting vegetables, and are very much looking forward to seeing the results of their hard work. This also gives the children a better understanding of where their food comes from, and the produce can be further used in nursery meals and explored for learning purposes.”
