CHARITIES across Berkshire have benefited from a £25,000 cash boost for very worthy causes across the Thames Valley.

SEGRO has donated the money to six charities as part of its 2019 Community Fund to help groups in Bracknell, Reading and Slough.

The money will help deliver a wide range of projects to help education and employment opportunities and mentoring for young, disadvantaged and vulnerable people.

Pilgrim Hearts in Bracknell have been given money from the fund to help the homeless and the Bracknell Executive Job Club, who offer free support services to over 50s who have been made redundant and are seeking new employment.

Neil Impiazzi, partnership development director at SEGRO, said: "Enhancing community wellbeing is at the heart of our business and the SEGRO Community Fund is a fantastic initiative which helps us make a real difference for thousands of people who live and work in the areas in which we have a presence.

Smart Works in Reading and Bracknell have also received money from the fund to help young women into employment.

SEGRO have also donated money to ABC to Read in Berkshire, to help children develop their literacy skills and build self-confidence.

Neil added: "We are proud to be supporting a wide range of fantastic charities and community groups, all of whom are driving invaluable projects and initiatives geared towards opening new doors to employment, providing training opportunities and improving the lives of people across the Thames Valley."
