To mark their ten-year anniversary The Clare Foundation plan to give even more back to the Buckinghamshire community in the next year.

The Wycombe based charity invited over 80 local charities to celebrate the ten years of work they’ve done so far and discussed their plans for the next year hoping it’ll be their “biggest and best yet.”

Philanthropist Mike Clare set up The Clare Foundation in 2009 after selling the Dreams bed superstore chain and now runs the charity alongside CEO Martin Gallagher.

Over the last 10 years they have helped over 600 charities that were in need of support by providing, meeting space, offices, CPD training, seminars, workshops, sustainable funding planning and strategic mapping.

Mike said: “We have achieved a great deal, but I still feel there is more that we can do to help everyone in the community – I want to make Buckinghamshire the happiest county in the UK.

“We are taking a triple focus this year to allow us to help not just local charities, but local businesses and local people as well, and not just in Buckinghamshire but also branching out into the surrounding areas.”

The new approach will encourage local businesses to get involved with the wider community and signpost relevant charities for people in the area who suffer from loneliness, depression, anxiety, or shyness.

Martin added: “This is a really exciting time for us, we are keen to help as many people in the local area as we can.

“But we still have more to come, we are currently developing 2 further programmes which we hope to launch in early 2020.”
