A BUILDING in Reading town centre has had several windows and doors smashed in a vandal attack.
Jobcentre Plus, in Friar Street, was vandalised over the weekend (Sunday, September 15).
A spokesman from Thames Valley Police said: "Police received a report of criminal damage at around 11.50am on Sunday (September 15) after the windows of a building had been smashed in Friar Street.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the non-emergency number 101 or make a report online, quoting reference 43190285270."
A DWP spokesperson said: “These disgraceful acts of vandalism at the Reading Jobcentre will not be tolerated and the police are currently investigating.
“The Jobcentre has now reopened.
"While closed, contingency plans were put in place and payments were made without interruption.”
