THE Hexagon in Reading will be buzzing with the magic of Motown early next month as the popular stage performance comes to town.

The Magic of Motown celebrates the sound of a generation - and music fans are invited to the biggest party of the year at the Reading theatre on October 3.

Seen by more than a million people, it is no surprise that the show is one of the biggest success stories in British theatre history - even performing for Her Majesty the Queen as special guests at the Royal Variety Performance.

Fans of Motown can expect 40 back-to-back classic hits, glittering costume changes, dazzling dance moves and outstanding musicianship in this explosive concert experience.

The timeless music of Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson and more, will be sensationally recreated on the stage by an exceptionally talented cast and band.

The breathtaking concert spectacular takes you on a musical journey through all your favourite songs - including Ain’t No Mountain, Signed Sealed Delivered, Grapevine, Get Ready, Dancing In The Streets, My Girl, Blame It On The Boogie, Uptight, Endless Love, My Cherie Amor, All Night Long, Heatwave and more.

Songs like Dancing in the Street, My Girl, Where Did Our Love Go, My Guy and Baby Love rocketed Motown to the top of the singles charts in 1964.

And that same year, Motown crossed the Atlantic to become a musical phenomenon on these shores.

The labels’ touring concert show, the Motown Revue starring Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, the Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, (Little) Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross and the Supremes, paved the way for Motown’s chart-storming success in the UK.

That year the UK singles charts were peppered with Motown songs.

Magic of Motown comes to The Hexagon on October 3 with a show at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £30, with concessions £28. Go online to www.readingarts.com/hexagon or call the ticket office on 0118 960 6060 to buy.
