As we draw closer to discovering who will take this year's retail crown of glory, we take a look at one of our founding partners and the reason why they remain firm supporters of the Reading Retail Awards.

At the heart of the Reading shopping scene since it’s opening in the 1970’s, Broad St. Mall is Reading’s original Mall.

As home to a number of popular high street retailers, independent stores and their loyal and hard-working teams, it serves a wide cross-section of the community.

With a huge shift in consumer behaviour over recent years and the resulting impact on retail and the high street, Broad St. Mall works tirelessly with their store teams, to deliver a positive and engaging experience for customers, and keep them visiting Reading town centre.

Over recent years Broad St. Mall has enjoyed a change of ownership and significant investment by its new owners, Moorgarth.

Bosses have focussed on improvements to the aesthetics of the centre as well as improving the tenant mix to bring brands that their customers know and love, to the heart of the town.

This investment continues with some exciting plans for the centre over the coming years.

This year Broad St. Mall has also welcomed a brand new centre manager, Nicola Williamson, who, as an ex, long-serving retailer herself, has first-hand experience of the levels of dedication required in today’s retail climate. She also understands what it takes to deliver first-class customer service and high standards at store level.

With all of this in mind, Broad St. Mall is proud to sponsor this year’s Reading Retail Awards, as a means of celebrating the successes and acknowledging the commitment of the town’s retailers to creating a bustling town-centre.
