GENEROUS shoppers donated their loose change to help charities across the Borough.

Easthampstead Rotary Club volunteers stood outside Waitrose in Wokingham on Tuesday, September 3 to raise money for local groups.

A total of £600 was raised for charities such as The Wayz in Bracknell, Youthline, Age Concern, The Link and Me2 Club.

Bruce Irvine, collection organiser, said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to the members of the public who gave so generously, and to the Management and Staff of Waitrose, Wokingham who hosted us."

Shoppers emptied their purses with any spare change they had and some used the Rotarians card reader to make their contributions to the nominated charities and global projects.

The Easthampstead Rotary Club also helps provide disaster relief through ShelterBox and clean water through Excellent Development's Sand Dams.

As well as this, they have supported the End Polio Now global inoculation programme.

The group visit most Monday evenings at The Coppid Beech hotel.
