MANY teenagers have enjoyed the summer holidays so far but the agonising wait for GCSE results day couldn't have come around faster.

The past few weeks has been a nerve wracking wait as students in Bracknell, Wokingham and Ascot waited to pick up their results and today they finally opened that all important piece of paper (August 22).

Bracknell - Sandhurst School

Students from Sandhurst School celebrated their results today with over 77 per cent achieving a 4 or above.

Debbie Smith "We are celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results and I am absolutely thrilled.

"I am delighted that, for the second year running the number of students in English and mathematics achieving a 4 plus has risen.

Garth Hill College

Garth Hill College celebrated amazing exam results with 63 per cent of students achieving a 4 and above in maths and English.

Keith Grainger, principal at Garth Hill College, said: "We congratulate pupils on their GCSE examination success and particularly those that have attained grades at the highest level.

"Well done to everyone concerned - to pupils, parents, staff and governors."

Wokingham - The Emmbrook School

Wokingham pupils were all "delighted" to have picked up their results after all the hard work.

The school has shared its results with 75 per cent of all grades awarded a 7 to 9 (equivalent to A/A*).

66 per cent of students achieved a strong pass in all subjects with English and Maths maintaining their high performance, with 75 per cent achieving a standard pass in English and 72 per cent in maths.

High achiever, Solly Wheeler secured seven grade 9s, an 8, two grade 7s and an A* in further maths.

Nick McSweeney, acting headteacher, said: "We are extremely proud of our students and their well-deserved achievements.

"Alongside these high performing students, we had success across the ability range.

"We’re delighted to be celebrating alongside our students today, who have worked hard for their results. The overall pass rate for all qualifications was 99 per cent."

Ascot - Heathfield School

The all girls school in Ascot was rated as 'excellent' across all areas and are thrilled to be celebrating another year of 'stellar' GCSE results.

45 per cent of grades were in the top 9 to 7 band with a 100 per cent pass rate in Maths and English Language.

Bracknell News:

The results break down were 32 per cent achieving 9 to 7 in maths, 78 per cent 9-6 in English, 72 per cent in English Literature.

Marina Gardiner Legge, headteacher at Heathfield said: "Our students have truly surpassed themselves with this year’s excellent GCSE results, which are a testament to each and every girl’s commitment and dedication as well as the support and encouragement of our staff and parents – congratulations."

St George's Girls

Students at the school achieved fantastic results with a third securing a grade 9 to 7.

Aimee Thompson from Camberley was a top performer, achieving eight 9s, one 8 and one 7.

Liz Hewer, headteacher said: "In the wake of higher levels of rigour and challenge with the newly reformed GCSEs, I am delighted by these results. We are fortunate, as a small school, that we are able to offer such an extensive range of GCSE subjects and have inspirational staff who excite intellectual curiosity and provide a stimulating and happy environment."
