PENSIONERS sipped on Pimm's and enjoyed live jazz music in a bid to raise awareness of a newly developed retirement development.

Guests and elderly residents enjoyed McCarthy and Stone's Birch Place Retirement Living Plus development in Crowthorne with some live music and a glass of Pimm's.

The special afternoon event gave residents, staff and family members a chance to get together and find out about what the retirement home has to offer.

Julie Ward, national sales director for McCarthy and Stone, said: “Our Pimm’s on the patio event was a great success.

"Everyone enjoyed having a glass of Pimm’s whilst soaking up the sun on the patio, and MPR Jazz put on a fantastic performance for our homeowners and guests.

“The event was a good chance for us to showcase the wide variety of activities we host here at Birch Place, and to provide people with an insight into the lives homeowners enjoy at the development.”

Live band MPR Jazz from Sheffield came down to entertain guests and people were given a tour around the complex, meeting the team and chatting with retirees already living at the development.

McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living Plus developments have been designed to help retirees maintain an active and independent lifestyle with flexible care and support available.

The retirement accommodation is designed for people aged 70 and over and includes guest suites so friends and family can stay.
