PLANS to build new homes at a stables in Orford have been scrapped.
Grappenhall-based Randle White Ltd had applied for planning permission from Warrington Borough Council in order to construct five detached three-bedroom houses on the land off Orford Road.
It had previously described the proposals as being a ‘small, sustainable residential development’ which would ‘make a positive contribution to the area’.
But the application has been withdrawn after a number of residents submitted written objections to the scheme.
Poulton-with-Fearnhead Parish Council had also opposed the plans due to the mooted homes’ ‘close proximity to recent flood defence works and existing buildings’.
Concerns were also raised about the safety of vehicles entering and exiting the housing development from Orford Road.
