CREATIVE students unveiled their artwork inspired by different themes of the environment at Sunningdale train station yesterday afternoon (July 23).

Charters School in Sunningdale exhibited their work, which was designed over a three-week period to members of the public at the railway station.

The designs related to a theme of Environments, under the subheadings of war and peace, recycling, human rights and politics.

Mark Hall, art teacher at Charters School, said: "The students found and studied news articles related to the theme and and analysed related artists before producing their final piece.

"I am proud of the mature, skilful and personal approach that each student has taken to their work."

Students were encouraged to participate in the project to gain an interest in the arts and creative industry.

Charters school teamed up with The Arts Society Englemere and South Western Railway stations to deliver the artwork.

Marie Armand, platform assistant at the station, said: "Exhibiting the artwork of local school students is a wonderful way to brighten the environment for our customers and really brings the local community into the station."
