WORLD class dancers from Wokingham took home three gold medals at a prestigious dance competition in Portugal.

We take a look at the 38 dancers who represented England in the World dance competition, winning medals in Tap, Ballet, Song and Dance and Jazz.

Jayne Coleman, who runs the Jayne A Coleman Academy of Dance, said: "I am so proud of my pupils.

"The competition includes some of the best full time dance schools in the world and the standard is extremely high so to be able to compete and stand out amongst such talent is truly wonderful." Dancers aged eight to 18 took part in the 'biggest dance competition in the world', showing off their performances and winning three gold medals for the 13 years and under group Tap, 13years and under group Jazz and 17 years and under group Jazz.

Four silver medals were won for the 17 years and under group tap, 17 years and under group song and dance, 25 years and under group Jazz and 25 years and under group Tap.

Finally, one bronze medal was won by the 25 years and under group Ballet.

Over 6,000 dancers from 54 Countries took part in the competition so it was a massive achievement for a part time school in Wokingham to have won so many medals.
