A TALENTED ballet dancer from Ascot will be joining hundreds of others from around the country at a prestigious celebratory performance in London.

Sabrina Wyllie from Sunningdale will perform at the Bloomsbury Theatre in Central School of Ballets annual summer performance on July 18 and 19.

The 17-year-old who has been dancing since she was five, was just one of 34 students to have secured a coveted place on a professional and leading dance programme.

Sabrina said: "I love being surrounded by like-minded hardworking people who are driven to reach a similar goal to be a professional dancer.

"The training requires determination and discipline as we train six hours a day, six days a week, but the atmosphere is support and we are like a big family."

The semi-professional dancer has completed her first year of training at Central School of Ballet, which is a world renowned training centre for professional dance in London.

She also studied dance full-time at Young Dancers Academy in London, before gaining her place at Central at the age of 16.

Heidi Hall, director of central, said: “Central’s training ethos is based on strong technique, creative interpretation and artistic expression.

"Our annual Summer Performance is an opportunity for the students to experience the joy of performing in front of ticket-buying audiences, allowing them to demonstrate their enhanced skills – this is what drives student dancers to succeed as professional dancers."
