FEEDING ducks, crazy golf and dancing – these were just some of the activities on offer to vulnerable adults last week as part of the council’s new scheme to tackle loneliness.

Dinton Pastures Country Park welcomed 30 adults on Wednesday, July 3, from Daffodil dementia group and Rose Buddies.

Wokingham Borough Council’s sports and leisure team started the day guiding participants around Black Swan Lake before a ranger took the group for a spot of pond dipping later on.

Some took time out to relax in the sunshine after lunch, while others took part in crazy golf.

The day was rounded off with a group song and dance made possible by ukulele band No Strings Attached.

Charles Margetts, executive member for health, wellbeing and adult services, said: “We are lucky that we live in such a caring borough, with so many kind and compassionate people willing to help those in need.

“Events like these are at the heart of what we, as a council, wish to achieve.

“If you know of anyone who suffers from loneliness or isolation, I kindly ask you to let them know about the activities we offer and all their benefits.
