A COUPLE from Ascot say the secret to their long and happy marriage is simply to have a bit of humour and to never be apart.

Alan and Doreen Sherwood, who are 92 and 91 are celebrating their platinum wedding anniversary on July 30.

The couple tied the knot in 1949 when the war in Europe was over, and met when they were just 15 and 16-years-old.

Since then, they have lived busy lifestyles with Doreen working as a professional model in London and still to this day, works as a model in Windsor.
