Barnardo's High Close in Wokingham held a celebratory event on July 6 inviting families and young people to celebrate their achievements.

The occasion was an annual celebration event for Barnardo's services users across the South East and Anglia.

Tina Douglas, lead for voice of the child in the South East region, said: "Our annual celebration event is a wonderful opportunity for us to gather together young people along with their families and Barnardo’s colleagues to celebrate their achievements."

Young people showcased their talents as they got involved with music workshops, wood sculpting, spray painting and other activities at the ceremony.

Barnado's also aims to help transform vulnerable children's lives.

Tina added: "It was a warm and sunny day and everyone enjoyed the activities and the chance to have fun and socialise.

"Our young people are incredibly inspirational and show such resilience – it really is a privilege to be part of this event and show how much we enjoy working with them and helping them achieve their full potential."

“This event is also made more special by the fact that it is young people from Barnardo’s services who are instrumental in organising the event and the programme of activities for the day.”
