FAMILIES enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend as they visited a school fete to donate money to a very worthy cause.
St Michaels Church and School in Easthampstead held a summer fete, inviting friends and families to make "generous donations" towards Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue.
The chosen charity for this year's summer fete, displayed how they carry out their searches and what equipment they use to support Thames Valley Police in finding missing people.
Andrew Viney, fundraising officer, said: "We are pleased to support St Michaels Church and School and extremely grateful to all of their congregation, parents and children for this generous donation which will be spent on life saving equipment."
The team received a £500 cheque from the school which will be spent on helping the charity provide computerised mapping, radio communications, medical equipment, scene lightings and a control vehicle.
Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue are made of volunteer staff, foot searches, search controllers and search managers.
They assist Thames Valley Police in searching for missing people, vulnerable persons such as children or those suffering with dementia or despondent people.
