A FORMER Reading FC youth player has been suspended from Watford Football Club after a brawl at Royal Ascot.

The club have suspended Reece Miller after footage of a fight at Ascot Racecourse on Friday, June 21 was circulated.

National newspapers published footage of the shocking incident, which shows a man in a brawl that was allegedly sparked when a woman was pushed over during the races.

Following the incident Miller posed for a picture while he was smirking holding up the Sun’s coverage of the fight.

A club spokesman said: "We are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness. The club will not tolerate any behaviour which tarnishes its image and a full disciplinary investigation is now in process.

"As soon as the footage was brought to the club's attention, an immediate decision was taken to suspend the player.

"He will now face an inquiry with all disciplinary options available to the club. There will be no further comment until the investigation is completed."

Teenager Miller joined the club from Reading in 2017 and is a third-year academy scholar who had previously set his sights on earning his first professional deal.

Speaking last year, he said: "I’ve started to get into the Under-23s team and I’ve come off the bench a few times, so obviously, my next target is to break through into that team permanently.

"Then I’ve got to try and get a pro deal for next year as soon as possible really."

Thames Valley Police arrested three people over the incident but it’s believed that Reece wasn't one of them.
