HOMEOWNERS and staff at a retirement living development in Crowthorne have enjoyed a spectacular afternoon of ballroom dancing with Strictly Come Dancing stars.

Residents and staff at the McCarthy and Stone’s Birch Place Retirement Living Plus development on Dukes Ride were joined by Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag.

The pair who are known as the golden couple of the show are one of Britain’s most recognised and well-regarded ballroom partnerships. They have danced together professionally for over 20 years and Anton has appeared in every series of Strictly since its launch in 2004.

Guests who attended the special event at the complex enjoyed performances from the professionals including the Viennese Waltz, the Quickstep and the Waltz.

The dancing stars also demonstrated some popular moves to help attendees improve their own techniques.

Julie Ward, national sales director for McCarthy and Stone South East, said: “Our ballroom dancing event was a great success. Anton and Erin put on a fantastic performance for our homeowners and guests, and everyone loved getting involved and meeting the golden couple.

"If people were not up and dancing, then they were certainly tapping their toes.

“The event was a good chance for us to showcase the wide variety of activities we host here at Birch Place, and to provide people with an insight into the lives homeowners enjoy at the development. We thank Anton and Erin for putting on a stunning show.”

As well as dancing the guests at the ballroom event were able to take a closer look at Birch Place including an opportunity to take a tour of the show complex, meet the McCarthy and Stone team, and chat with retirees who are already living at the development.
