The following cases were heard at Reading and Slough Magistrates' Court

May 20:

Spencer Higgins, 35, of High Street, Little Sandhurst, admitted to failing without reasonable excuse to comply with a community requirement of a suspended sentence order made by Slough Magistrates’ Court, by failing to attend an Unpaid Work Requirement. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay costs of £30.

Wanderson Ribeiro Pinto, 34, of Crossway, Bracknell, admitted to drink driving and was fined £475. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £47.

May 21:

Robert James Mitchell, 35, of Hillberry, Bracknell, admitted to stalking without fear/alarm/distress and was committed to prison for 14 weeks, suspended for 24 months. A community order was made and he must take part in a Programme Requirement for 30 days, a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 25 days and an Unpaid Work Requirement of 100 hours in the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £630 and a surcharge of £115. A restraining order was made by the court.

Sebastian Mark Ian Parker, 34, of Statham Court, Binfield, admitted to drink driving, driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance. He was committed to prison for 12 weeks and disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 40 months. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £115.

Samuel Tighe, 27, of Top Common, Warfield, admitted to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and received a community order. He must take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for a maximum of 20 days and an Unpaid Work Requirement of 100 hours in the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £250, costs of £85 and a surcharge of £85.

May 23:

Craig Sherwood, 32, of no fixed abode, admitted to damaging a door in Bracknell to the value of £150 and received a conditional discharge for one year. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £20 and a restraining order was made by the court.

Lee Scrutton, 55, of Bearwood Park, Winnersh, admitted to stalking without fear/alarm/distress and received a community order. He must take part in an Unpaid Work Requirement of 40 hours in the next 12 months. A restraining order was made by the court and he was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £85.

A fundamental principle of justice is that it must be seen to be done. It is established in the UK that court cases should be heard in public.
