A LEADING housebuilder continues to offer funding to help community groups after a Wokingham charity has seen the benefits.
Persimmon Homes launched its Building Futures initiative in February to support community youth projects across three categories including sport, education, arts and health.
Over the last three months they have selected winners from each of the categories and have given away £1,000 to the Wokingham Me2 Club.
Me2 Club helps children with additional needs and disabilities in the Wokingham area attend weekly mainstream activities and the £1,000 has gone towards developing a better community for everyone.
Rachel Faulkner, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, said: “The quality and variety of applicants for this funding scheme has been fantastic, and we have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response.”
The funding is delivered through the Persimmon Charitable Foundation and is aimed at community projects for people aged under 18, targeting grassroots sports groups, charities dealing with physical and mental health issues or awareness, as well as community arts and education projects.
