FOOTBALL enthusiasts will get the chance to go head-to-head with a celebrity player with a penalty shoot out aiming to raise money.

The football match takes place at Bracknell Town FC on Saturday, July 6 and hopes to raise money for Flying Start, a global charity partnership between British Airways and Comic Relief who help give children a chance to have a brighter future.

Bracknell residents will get the chance to meet TV sports personality Gary Lineker who will be hosting the event.

TV celebrity Mark Wright will also be there where families will get a chance to play penalty shoot outs and meet him.

Other celebrity guests will be attending the event with British Airways top players competing for the winning trophy.

Kayne Steinborn-Busse, chairman of Bracknell Town Football Club, said: "Events of this nature are a great opportunity for the club to connect with parts of the community that may not nromally come to watch us play or bring their children for training and games.

"Having Gary Lineker hosting and Mark Wright and celebrity friends playing will bring a broader cross section of locals to the lane."

Families who buy a ticket will get to enjoy a variety of tasty food and fun activities.

Those who wish to purchase a ticket are encouraged to make a donation equal to the cost of the ticket.

Guests are also entered into the British Airways prize draw raffle. First prize leaves guests in for a chance of winning two business class worldwide return flights, second prize of two business class short haul return flights and third prize is a special football hamper.

Kayne added: "It is great to be able to host such a great global organisation like British Airways and support their Flying Start charity where all the funds raised will go to Comic Relief.

"Over the two and a bit years since we relaunched the ground and club, we have raised somewhere in the region of £70k for a variety of charities so we are hoping this event will get us nearly to £80k."
