Bucks Free Press reporter Matt Joy visited Claytons Primary School in Bourne End to talk about the everyday working life of a journalist.

The visit started with Matt discussing his career in journalism so far, speaking about the experiences he has had and the variety of different roles he has covered.

The hugely inquisitive year three students then quizzed Matt for 45 minutes about his role at the newspaper.

For many of the students, they wanted to know about how reporters cope with challenging and upsetting stories.

Matt said: “Every day is different, no two days are the same. The range of the stories we cover is massive and that really is my motivation. I love being able to come to work and have to react to unique challenges.” Speaking on social media after the visit, Matt tweeted: “I went to visit Claytons Primary School to talk about the work we do. It was a bit strange answering the questions for a change! Very enjoyable to give back to the community.”
