HIGH Wycombe’s quirky tradition of weighing the mayor will return next weekend.
In an ancient tradition that is unique to High Wycombe, residents get to see if politicians and dignitaries have been overindulging during their time in office, as they take a seat on the scales in front of the crowds.
Crowds of people will flock to Frogmoor to see which politicians had behaved themselves and which had overindulged.
The mayor-elect, Cllr Maz Hussain, will be weighed as he takes the chains from the current town mayor, Cllr Sarfaraz Khan Raja.
Other councillors and dignitaries and Wycombe MP Steve Baker will also take to the scales.
The procession from the Guildhall will leave at around 11.40am and head towards Frogmoor for the weighing in ceremony.
