AN EMBROIDERS group have been putting on a new textile art exhibition to celebrate Wokingham Cultural Month, which runs throughout May.
The Wokingham and District branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild have an exhibition of textile art, which is being displayed at Wokingham library this month.
On Thursday, May 2 members of the public met to share their enthusiasm for embroidery and members of the group demonstrated the art of stitching.
Jo Hetherington, committee member of Wokingham and District Embroiderers Guild is really excited about the exhibition in Wokingham Library to celebrate Wokingham’s month of Culture.
She said: “There is a huge amount of talent around the Wokingham area and this exhibition gives Members a chance to showcases their skills.
"Hopefully this will encourage and inspire others to experiment and try different techniques, anything from traditional to contemporary.
"It's also a chance for people to join in a very sociable activity."
The exhibition entitled A Stich in Time can be found in the cafe of the Wokingham Library.
