The Tilehurst Panthers Under 12 and Under 14 teams have won Berks & Bucks FA Futsal Championships for girls in their age groups, held at The Arborfield Green Sports Centre at Bohunt School.

For the U12 girls, it was a great comeback.

Within 10 minutes of the start of their final with Aylesbury United, they were three goals down, but at the end of the 40 minutes they ran out 8-5 winners.

For the Under 14s, the final took a different form, with four finalists who played each other twice in 10-minute matches in a mini league.

At the end of the day, the girls from Tilehurst Panthers pipped Wing Raiders Belles to take the title.

"It was an awesome achievement for our club and the girls," said Tilehurst Panthers' club secretary, Rob Page.

l CAVERSHAM Trents won the East Berks Football Alliance Under 14s Cup by defeating FC Bracknell 3-1 on Saturday.

They always looked the better side in the final played on Bracknell Town's 3G pitch, and could easily have won by a wider margin.

All the goals came in the first half with Haris Mahmood, Thomas Pasmore and Robbie White finding the back of the net, while midfielder Aaron Montague was named Trents' man of the match.

Managed by Dave Allen, the squad was completed by Henry Allen, James Atherton, Billy Blackall, Oakley Cuthbertson, Jake Gaines, Lorent Haxhilari, Finley Kemp, Jake Lambden, James Nelson, Ethan Parkin, Louis Poundall and Benjamin Welch.

They were coached by Graham Kemp and Lloyd Poundall.

To reach the final, Caversham had beaten Holyport Royals 6-0, Ascot United Royals 7-2, Bracknell Town 3-0 and AFC Charvil 3-2.

Rotherfield United Scorpions won the EBFA U12s Cup with a 5-0 win over Bracknell Cavaliers.
