A NEW shop selling frozen food has been opened in Wokingham by a local charity, who have cut down a ribbon to mark the shops grand beginning.

The COOK store was declared officially open on Friday, April 16 by the Listening and Supportive Partnership’ charity (CLASP) who support people with additional needs across the Wokingham Borough.

Representatives from the charity cut the ribbon along with the founder and co-CEO Ed Perry and his sister Rosie Brown, the other co-CEO.

Ed Perry, co-CEO of Cook, said “After months of delays, it was wonderful to be there with Amy and the team to see the ribbon cut at the new COOK Wokingham.

"There was such a positive response, it feels like the shop is already a real part of the community.”

The shop, which is located on Rose Street aims to provide the best frozen food, which is designed to be cooked the way anyone would at home.

There are currently a total of 90 stores across the UK, with their dishes receiving Great Taste Awards from the Guild of Fine Food.

The new Wokingham store will stock hand-prepared meals and puddings including traditional pies, everyday suppers, dinner party options, authentic curries, kids’ meals, canapes, lower-calorie meals, cakes, and vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
