CHILDREN have been making their own bird feeder boxes at a library in Bracknell after they were taught how to look after the environment.
Danny, an environmental warden for Bracknell Council gave the children an environmental talk at Bracknell Library last Thursday, April 18.
He showed the children how be green and the negative effects litter can have on wildlife and parks across the borough.
Danny regularly visits schools to raise awareness about the environment.
Danny said: “ We go round schools and run events all the time, it helps to raise awareness of the environment. It is important for children to be thinking about the future of our planet.”
The children enjoyed using the litter pickers and asked questions about how long items can take to decompose.
At the end of the session participants created and decorated their own garden bird feeder boxes, which were made from fruit juice and milk cartons.
The council hope that birds will benefit from the feeders, which are being used across the borough.
