A BUILDING firm has scooped an award taking the prize for the best designed kitchen during a prestigious awards night.

The building firm RMR Homes Ltd based in Crowthorne won a Master Builder Award in the Federation of Master Builders’ (FMB) Southern Counties region awards.

RMR Homes Ltd saw off tough competition to claim the prize for a stunning kitchen project in their client’s Chiswick home.

Phil Hodge, Director of FMB believes that the awards provide the opportunity for customers to thank builders.

He said: “The Master Builder Awards give the FMB the opportunity to celebrate a job well done and for clients to say thank you to their builders.

“For the construction industry, it is an opportunity to celebrate all that is good about small local building firms and their contribution to the UK economy."

Any project that is entered by a builder must be backed by a customer and aims to recognise the hard work and contribution building firms make to the construction industry.

The winning design incorporated the main kitchen, the snug and the dining area. The décor includes a spray-painted Cornforth white woodgrain, an in-frame shaker island, a hidden appliance cupboard and a column-less pillar and skylight maximising light and space.

Mr Hodge added: “Time and time again, we have been impressed with just how far these builders will go to ensure their client is happy.

"It is this dedication that we want to celebrate.

"RMR Homes Ltd should feel justly proud of their achievement in winning and we wish the firm every success in the national competition.”

The family run business were presented the award at a gala dinner hosted in Thame on Friday, April 5.
