A 58-YEAR-OLD man sustained a fractured arm and bruising when he confronted two people stealing bottles of spirits in Ascot.

Police have released CCTV images of two people who may have vital information in connection the incident, which took place at around 1.45pm on Thursday, January 10, at the Waitrose supermarket on London Road.

A man and a woman entered the store where two bottles were stolen.

When the member of staff attempted to apprehend the man, he fell to the floor during the altercation.

The two ran from the scene in the direction of the railway station.

The member of staff sustained a fractured arm and bruising.

He was treated at the Bracknell Walk-In Centre and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer PC Marion Woods, based at Maidenhead police station, said: "I am keen to speak to the people in these CCTV images, as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.

"Anyone who recognises these people, or has information about the incident, should report details to police."
