CHILDREN enjoyed a variety of activities to commence Bracknell Town Councils annual Spring Fayre.

The spring event at Jocks Lane Recreation Ground took place on Sunday, April 7.

There were activities and entertainments for all the family at the spring fayre, such as the OBJ Morris Dancers and a falconry display where children got to hold birds of prey.

Jackie Burgess, Bracknell Town Clerk, said: "I was delighted to see so many local families out enjoying the activities and coming together to enjoy our recreation ground and the local business stalls."

Families were inspired by Bracknell in Bloom to plant sunflower seeds, which encouraged people to learn about the environment and how to make the town look more green.

Youngsters also had their face painted in colourful designs and took part in arts and crafts and free tennis sessions.

The Berkshire Wood Turners Association carved some wonderful sculptures too, and Bracknell Town Council displayed some of the larger equipment including tractors used for keeping Bracknell looking 'neat and tidy'.

The children also enjoyed sitting inside the tractors and having their pictures taken.

The Bracknell Railway Society also celebrating their 50th anniversary, after using the site to operate their miniature steam sets.

Falconry displays impressed guests with children getting up close and personal with owls.
