A BAKE off style competition raising money to support young people with additional needs, will help sponsor children to go on guided activities.

Staff members at Coeo Ltd, based in Wokingham hosted the baking competition on March 25, where the team were encouraged to donate money before trying the cakes.

Votes were then cast for who their favourite baking winner was and a total of £450 was raised towards the Me2Club.

Christian Bolton, Coeo's technical director, said: "Coeo are proud to support the Me2Club and the incredible work they do." The Me2Club is a charity in Woodley which enables children and young people with additional needs and disabilities to attend mainstream activities.

Children from the ages of 5-19 can attend the club and get specialist one-to-one support from a volunteer.

Liz McDaniel, fundraising development officer at Me2Club, said: "The event was an amazing success and the amount raised means that Coeo have sponsored a Me2 Club to attend their chosen weekly mainstream activity for a whole year.

"We would love to hear from other companies who could join in with this initiative and help to support local children and their families."

Members can then guide the children which activities such as Cubs and Brownies, to Taekwondo, youth groups or swimming classes.

Christian added: "I would like to thank Joe Pollock for making this year's Bake-Off a huge success, as well as the Coeo team for supporting the event."
