THE ANNUAL cultural festival held at a college in Bracknell aimed to show diversity within the borough and bring people from all walks of life together.

The Bracknell Forest Cultural Festival was arranged by Involve Community Services in partnership with the Bracknell Forest Council and was held on Saturday, March 23 at Bracknell and Wokingham College.

The event had several stalls from varies local organisations, which included the Look Out Centre, the Indian Cultural Association Bracknell, Thames Valley Police, Bracknell Healthwatch, Bracknell Forest Society, Bracknell Forest Council and many more.

The Mayor of the Bracknell Town Council, councillor Mrs Sandra Ingham, Deputy Mayor of Bracknell Town Council Mr Roger Meakes and Councillor Paul Bettison OBE Leader of Bracknell Forest Council all introduced and opened the event.

Philip Cook, general manager from Involve, said: “The event was such a roaring success, with an estimated over 600 total visitors throughout the day.

"We’re so glad to be part of a society that is so diverse and we’re proud to be part of an event that supports this togetherness."

There were also performances from dance groups originating from India, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Tai Chi performances.

Diane Benford, community services manager at Involve, added: “Thank you to everyone who came to learn and take part and thank you to everyone who helped us put everything together.

"We look forward to seeing you all again and hopefully even more in 2020, for the fifth instalment of this great event.”
