RACEGOERS will get to enjoy a special day full of family fun and treat their mums on Mother's Day.

The Spring Family Day takes place this Sunday (March 31) at Ascot Racecourse to mark the final jumps race of the season.

Guests can enjoy horse racing and countryside themed activities for all ages to enjoy.

Nick Smith, director of racing and communications at Ascot, said: "Our first family raceday and Ascot's final fixture of the 2018 - 2019 Jumps season will keep the whole family entertained with a combination of top-class racing and free countryside themed activities. "Falling on Mothering Sunday, families can explore the racecourse and enjoy off-track activities including a '20 thins to do before you are 12' experience amongst many more activities."

All mothers in the King Edward VII Enclosure will be offered a free main course in the Horsewalk Restaurant as a special treat on Mother's Day.

Children will get the chance to meet the beloved book character The Gruffalo and take a photo with him.

As well as this, activities include dog agility displays, falconry display with Birds of Prey, ferret racing and a petting zoo.

The family day also has an educational stance, as kids will learn how to build a den, encouraging little ones to use their imaginations.

The day starts at 10.45 with the first race beginning at 1.15pm.
