NURSERY and preschool children in Bracknell have been treated to a visit from a scientist, who is also a parent to a child at the school.

Children at the Bright Horizons Forest Park Day Nursery and Preschool took part in several different science experiments.

The experiments included exploding apples, a skittle experiment and one involving using salt and food colouring to look at how the colours don’t mix due to differing levels of salt.

Laura Gardner, deputy nursery manager, said: “The children really enjoyed having a scientist come in and this inspired them for the rest of the day to base their play around being scientists themselves.”

The experiments were part of the Bright Horizons Growing Scientist enhancement, which aims to help children identify scientific activities that occur in everyday life.
