THE BRACKNELL Forest Lions Club are encouraging people to join them as they are set to host a membership meeting.

The session will give residents the opportunity to find out more about the club and what they do, including projects they support.

Steve Pope, Bracknell Forest Lions club president, said: “Being a member of Lions is a wonderful thing.

"Lions International are the largest fund-raising and services organisation in the world, and the Bracknell Club have supported so many people in our local community through the Foodbank, Night Shelter, Youthline, Citizens Advice, Marie Curie, Me2Club and so many more charities.

“We also have good fun whilst we do it and are proud to be making a real difference in the Bracknell Forest area.

“Last year we won “Team of the Year” in the Pride of Bracknell awards, reflecting what great work the club are doing.”

The club have helped a range of local communities and good causes including donating £750 to South Hill Park to support Dementia-Friendly film screenings, donating sleeping bags and new socks to the Pilgrim Hearts winter night shelter and funding a trip to Paultons Park for children with additional needs and their families.

The membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 10 at the Bracknell Open Learning Centre. For more information, visit: https://www.bracknellforestlions.org.uk/index.html.
