A FIRST aid charity has been shortlisted for a national award for providing life-changing training to parents with babies.

Daisy First Aid in Bracknell provides two hour baby and child first aid classes, training people how to look after children in Berkshire.

Liane Jackson who set up the businesses wants to provide knowledge and life-saving skills for new parents who want to be confident when dealing in an emergency situation.

The first aider for Daisy First Aid, said: "A good friend told me about her experience when she had to resuscitate her son and she said that without her first aid training she doesn’t think she would have been able to cope.

"She did an amazing job and I am so thankful he was ok. It made me realise the importance of vital skills that nurses like myself and personnel in other public services take for granted." Daisy First Aid has been recognised for The Family Network Recognition National Business Awards for the category, New Business of the Year.

Liane added: “I am so proud and honoured to have been announced as a National Business Awards Finalist.

"I never thought I would be starting out in business at my age, however I feel I have the passion, drive and determination to succeed at doing what I love.”

The company also provides a 'Duty of Care’ class for small business owners, clubs, activity providers, and anyone who requires basic first aid.
